Engineering and enablement

Build: production software engineered to your standards, inside your environment

Full-stack product engineering on FORGE, by forward-deployed engineers who build on it for a living. Your standards and security controls are in the path from the first commit, inside your own repositories and cloud accounts. A web application, a cloud platform, an AI-enabled product or an agentic system: all take the same path. So does a re-engineered enterprise resource planning (ERP) module or a modernised mainframe system. Your developers keep the AI coding tools they already use; FORGE sits on top of them and changes what they produce. Work is built in units, each accepted before the next begins, with the tests planned from the requirements before the code is written. What ships is the software, with each requirement traced to the work that implemented it. The engineering environment it was built in stays with your team.

Your requirements, your architecture standards and your security controls go into FORGE. FORGE produces the engineering environment for that one product. It holds the design the software has to satisfy and the tooling to build, test, deploy and operate it, with every rule inside. BtSavvy's engineers build in that environment. Or your team builds in it with our forward-deployed engineer beside them, teaching the product and the discipline as the work goes. Either way it happens inside your repositories and cloud accounts. Every unit of work is checked against the design, by tests planned before the code existed and by an independent review of the running software. Missing evidence is a failed result, never a claimed success. What you receive is an application that has been architected, tested and traced, and the environment that produced it. Both are yours when the engagement ends. A capability you would otherwise rent as SaaS can be built on FORGE instead, to the standard a SaaS provider holds itself to. You own it.

What the client gets

A production-ready application, with its operator. Observable and governable from the first day, in your accounts. Health and version endpoints, structured logs, and timeouts and bounded retries on outside calls are generated as code. Recovery is rehearsed before release. A reversible release has a tested rollback path; an irreversible change has a documented recovery plan and a person who decides. The application arrives with its own operator, built from the same design, so there is no unfamiliar system for Run to learn afterwards.

Requirements and a design you can build from. We start from the document you already have and keep your wording. Where a system already exists, its requirements are recovered from the code, from recordings and screenshots, and from the running product. An independent review checks that the formal rewrite did not change what you agreed. Every technology decision is recorded with its reason and the options considered. A named person on your side approves the exact screen versions before anything is built from them; a change to a screen cancels that approval.

Tests before code, and evidence you can inspect. The test plan for every unit is written before any code exists. Accessibility, security and AI-safety tests are added where they apply. Each requirement, screen and endpoint needs coverage, or an approved exclusion with a named person against it, before building starts. A test that checks nothing is a failed test, not a pass. Rigour is worked out from what the work touches, and it can be raised but not talked down. The record shows where every value came from and which models were permitted to do the work, on what terms. It names the person accountable for each change that ships. Independent review and your repository's approval controls govern merging, so an AI agent does not approve its own work. Those controls depend on the repository's protections staying enabled. For AI products, the evaluation suite checks answers against known-good results and resists injection attempts. Only a second named engineer may lower its pass mark.

Evidence matched to the risk. Core business and safety-critical components receive additional verification against their specification. Their tests must show they catch deliberately introduced faults.

For a system that already exists. Real inputs and outputs are captured from the old system. The new one is compared against what the old one did. The two run side by side on real traffic until divergence falls within an agreed tolerance, and cut-over waits until you are satisfied.

When to engage

Engage Build when a product, platform or agentic system has to reach production and stay there. When a demo has been approved but nobody can say what it would take to make it safe to ship. When an existing system has to be modernised without breaking the people who depend on it. And when teams are shipping AI-written code faster than your architects and security engineers can review it.

Accelerators on this service

Build engagements draw on tooling we built for the work. It covers application scaffolding, reusable architecture patterns, integration templates, testing accelerators, interface and API starters, and agentic workflow builders. What one application learns in production goes back into the patterns the next one is built from. Nothing learned elsewhere acts on your system until it has been proven on your system. Your data and your intellectual property stay yours.

Adjacent services

Build executes the design AI Strategy & Architecture produces, or the requirements you bring. It runs on the platform Cloud builds and through the pipelines DevSecOps generates, on AWS, Azure, Google Cloud or Oracle Cloud. It builds against the data Data Foundation prepares. Once shipped, Run operates the result and Assurance reads its evidence. Governed Enablement gives your business teams the same path at their own speed.

Four situations lead to Build. Reaching production and staying there, a demo not yet safe to ship, a system people depend on, and AI-written code outpacing review.

Most Build engagements begin with the FORGE Diagnostic. It takes one workload you select, a product you want built or a system you want modernised. We build a working slice of it to your standards, inside your security controls, and deploy it where you can watch it run. You keep the demonstration, its evidence and a readiness assessment, with a proposed next step.
