Operations and assurance

Run: every cloud application built on FORGE comes with its own operator

Site reliability engineering and managed operations, with a difference: every cloud application FORGE builds comes with its own operator, built from the application's own design. The operator watches the application, investigates when something goes wrong, and fixes the problems it has been proven to handle. Everything else reaches a person with the evidence already assembled. Its authority is earned by rehearsal, is bounded by its own application, and lapses if it is not renewed. Releasing code stays with people, and anyone on call can stop the operator at once. It runs in your own cloud account, with no new monitoring platform to adopt. This is how a service your team builds for itself is run to the standard a SaaS provider holds itself to. BtSavvy engineers supervise the operators and take the hard case. Or your operations team does, with a forward-deployed engineer beside them teaching the operating discipline, and the capability stays with your team.

FORGE builds the application, so it builds both sides of the relationship. The application arrives instrumented for its operator. The operator arrives knowing the architecture, the dependencies, the critical user journeys, the service targets and the known ways of failing. The alarm rules that wake the operator are compiled from the availability the design promised. Recovery is rehearsed in a lower environment before the first production deploy, so the operator ships with rehearsal results rather than promises. While the application is healthy, only the cloud's own alarms and a periodic check run, and no model is called. A recognised failure triggers a rehearsed response without a model call. An unfamiliar one gets an AI investigation under a spending ceiling for that incident. The investigation treats every log line it reads as data, never as an instruction.

What the client gets

An operator for each application, an engineering bench behind it, and the evidence between them.

An operator that knows your application. What it knows is a document you can open and audit. When the application changes, that knowledge, the alarms and the drills are rebuilt in the same change, so they cannot drift apart. Its authority is a ladder: observe, explain, act with approval, then act alone on the kinds of action it has rehearsed. Each rung is unlocked by passing a drill and expires unless renewed. It is scoped to one kind of action, such as a restart or a rollback. Every drill is also a test of the operator's diagnosis, so its accuracy is measured on your application. If it slips below its threshold, the operator goes back to recommending rather than acting. At no rung does it merge or release code, and each operator can act only on its own application. Secrets and personal data are redacted before any model call.

An accountable engineering bench. BtSavvy engineers take the root-cause work, the judgement calls and the improvement work that retires recurring toil. We agree coverage for each workload with you. Access into your systems is scoped, time-bound and logged, never standing.

Evidence from the first deploy. Every observation, decision, action, approval and outcome is an append-only record, checked against the cloud's own audit trail. One portfolio view shows the health, incidents, authority state and operator cost of every application. It holds no credentials and no direct path for changing an application. What one application learns in production becomes a proposal for the others, and acts nowhere until it has passed that application's own drill.

A lone figure stands before a wall-sized cloud drawn in circuitry.

When to engage

Engage Run when an application built on FORGE is going into production and needs an operator that already knows it. It fits when you have deployed AI workloads and found that uptime monitoring is not the discipline they need. It also fits when a system you already run is being rebuilt on FORGE and should arrive in production with its operator.

Accelerators on this service

Run engagements draw on tooling we built for the work. It covers observability and alarm patterns for AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and Oracle Cloud, drill suites for common incident classes, and runbook generation. Your data and your intellectual property stay yours.

Adjacent services

Run operates what Build produces, the application and the operator that comes with it, on the platform Cloud builds, through the pipelines DevSecOps generates. Assurance reads the operator's record as continuous evidence. AI Strategy & Architecture agrees the service targets the operator watches. Business-built applications on FORGE come with the same operator.

Three situations lead to Run, for applications built on FORGE. Going to production, AI workloads that need more than uptime monitoring, and systems rebuilt on FORGE.

Most engagements begin with the FORGE Diagnostic. We build a working slice of one workload to your standards, inside your security controls, and deploy it where you can watch it run. We use it to show how the operator watches, investigates and recovers. You keep the demonstration, its evidence and a readiness assessment, with a proposed next step. Nothing in your existing production is altered.
